Happy Halloween! Zombie Calavera Prologue
Posted by Luca on 2018-10-31
Zombie Calavera PrologueTrick or treat? Oh well, it seems like we got both of them this year!

Hokuto Force signs this year's Halloween time by releasing a game with the right creepy mood that fits the time of evil grinning pumpkins and hanged skeletons. Zombie Calavera Prologue, originally created for ZX Spectrum, comes in the night riding a headless horse, straight from the vast catalogue of The Mojon Twins, and lands on the desecrated grounds of C64, VIC20 and Plus/4. Coded by Majikeyric, whom definitely demonstrates his settled presence in the Plus/4 scene, it also features graphics by na_th_an and music by Uctumi, and finds its way out thanks to the game development division of Hokuto Force "Digital Monastery", a quasi-sophomore of this latter one on Plus/4, if we consider Matatu.

Help Santos the graveyard guardian, to save his beloved wife Mara and take his long awaiting revenge from an ancient evil priest, collect all the crucifixes he needs, hide in shadows to avoid the spirits which seek you relentlessly. Enter the lands of purgatory with you gun and try to get out from there as a winner.
Happy damned, jumping and shooting Halloween to you all!

"Rodmän" Preorders Now Open
Posted by Luca on 2018-10-13
Rodmän"Rodmän", the brand new game signed by Mika Misfit Keränen, is now ready to be preordered at The Future Was 8bit.

The game comes in a Special Edition combining three different multiformat cassettes, in order to purchase the whole bunch of versions (C64, C16, VIC20 +16K, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC464, Oric1, MSX!), and the digital download for all the formats is included too. Purchasing the whole big pack is the only way to get it: the actual words from the distributor are:"Chances of individual release other than digital download is slim. Price as low as we can to cover all costs and to give Misfit a bit back for his hard work. Is that not worth the cost alone?".

Rodmän Triple PackIf you wanna see how the real thing runs and plays, Misfit c̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶(̶"̶c̶o̶u̶l̶d̶"̶ ̶y̶e̶t̶,̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶ ̶w̶e̶'̶r̶e̶ ̶w̶r̶i̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶t̶e̶x̶t̶)̶ will release a playable demo just at the end of the preorder's period, hence stay tuned for further news.

Preorder Rodmän at The Future Was 8bit. C16 games still sold around in 2018? Yes. Of course. Why not? ;)

New Stuff From Lacus
Posted by Csabo on 2018-10-07
Magyarország (Newline)Lacus sent us some new stuff; I'd like to share it with you all. First off we finally have the cover artwork, cassette photo and TAP file for 3-D Sakk, a Hungarian 3D chess program. For Verem, which is a decent Hungarian Tetris game we now have a HQ cover as well. Finally, there's something new: Magyarország (Newline) is a never-before seen educational program. Your task is to point out the location of given cities on Hungary's map. One of the developers is ETC, the developer of the legendary Digital Box, who we "found" this year. If you haven't yet, you can check out his profile for some historical info.

We've also added an official product list from Newline to their page. Big thanks to Lacus for these!
