| Covers From IQ666 - Part 2 | Posted by Csabo on 2018-11-21 |
Continuing from Part 1, the next batch of cover scans and cassette photos from IQ666 has been uploaded today. Here is what's new: * Cassette photo for 10 Computer Hits 3 * Ace 2 cassette and "epilepsy warning" - the publisher must have thought this to be hugely important, as it's printed in 8 languages :-) * Four Great Games cassette photos * A self-help card included with Future Knight (which uses the word... "blastventure") * Ikari Warriors cassette photo * Summer Events cassette photo (Anco release) * And finally the 4 "sides" of the cover for Winter Olympiade (which was the name of the German release of Winter Events). Check it out, there's more to come! |

| A Piece Of News We Missed | Posted by Csabo on 2018-11-19 |
About a year and a half ago Litwr made a rather low-key announcement on the forum. He let us know that he developed a Windows program which is essentially a replacement or a rival to Austrospeed Compiler. CBCCWIF (or Commodore +4 Basic Cross Compiler with Italian flavor) takes your BASIC program file and produces an ASM version, which can then be assembled. Although we don't have official benchmarks, the resulting machine-language program files appear to be much faster than what Austro produces.
Today we rectified our mistake of not adding this program to our list of tools. Sorry about that! You can now find it here, with a link to the official homepage for more info. Anyone developing BASIC games should give it a try, and be sure to send your feedback to the author. |

| UUUU #3: Myth | Posted by Luca on 2018-11-12 |
Welcome to the third episode of UUUU: Unearthed/Unseen/Unfinished/Unreleased, the last available ship taking vanished code straight to your emulators, SD2IECs, 5ΒΌ diskettes and so on.
Today it's the turn for something big, something ambitious, something (maybe) truly existing somwhere. A soty from the past, that could easily become a forthcoming future, if somebody will have the chance to pick up the right disks from his old collection. It's time for Myth: History in the Making, the never seen before conversion from scratch labelled as Methabolix, resulting from the efforts of Beast and Unreal.
We have tried to squeeze the most from the Unreal's disks, but we ain't able to seek out the real deal: the working final version. Anyway, we have a playable demo (V6.4/C says the related directory) that shows fantastic animations, solid gameplay, gigantic bosses, working code...and yes, some flawlesses here and there which scream:"It's still a previewwwww!".
Our pleasure is serving you all at our best: we scraped the darkest corners of the disks ciited above, just to pull out from them any useful bit of involved stuff, in order to have the best idea about how the game would have been once finished; we have a video of the full digimusic intro; we added cheats too, we tested the commands, we bruteforced the loader, we have read all the readable text about the game.
Enjoy Myth, we will meet again for the 4th chapter of this journey along the unseen. Wait for that, nothing will be lost, it's just playing hide'n'seek ;) |

| Covers From IQ666 - Part 1 | Posted by Csabo on 2018-11-10 |
Scan collection increase time! "Recently" registered member IQ666 submitted a boatload of covers, which can only be added in small chunks, otherwise it will never be done. IQ666, whose real name is Kai Uwe... Does that ring a bell? If you immediately though of seeing an advert in the old A-System demo Electric Movie... Then you have an exceptionally good memory, I guess? For everyone else, the takeaway is, our friend has been a quiet part of the scene for quite a long time!
So, with 31 files totaling 4.5MB uploaded, let's have a quick rundown of what's new: * 4 In 1 Hit Pak two cassette photos added * ACE an alternative cover and German inlay added * Battle Star cassette photo added * Bongo cassette photo and German inlay added * Footballer Of The Year cassette photo and back cover added * Ghosts 'n Goblins cassette photo, plus English, German and French instructions added * Mercenary cassette photos added, apparently the 2nd side has the C64 version on it! * Alternative Kingsoft covers added for Micro Datei, Music Master and Paintbox, something to look out for if you're a collector * Music Synthesiser cassette photo added * Scooby Doo English, German and French instruction scans added
Finally, something else interesting: apparently the Anirog 1984 release of Las Vegas had numbered prints... We replaced the current scan with Kai's, but since we keep track of everything else under the sun Plus/4 related, we also started a little section keeping track of who owns what. (This might eventually grow into a proper place for people to keep track of their collections.) For now, whoever submitted the original scan, please edit your name, and if you happen to own a copy, please add your name. More to come, thanks to IQ666 for these, enjoy! |
