Each weekend, play just one round with the selected game (and optionally submit your score). Don't have a real C16 or Plus/4 anymore? Just fire up an emulator, or even play it online here on our site. When? Every weekend. Where? In the comfort of your own home (or anywhere you like, really). Why? To show your support to this community. Each time you participate, your message is: "I'm here, I care about this old stuff, I care about this site, I'm one of us."

For the purposes of keeping track of participation, you can simply comment in this thread or message me in a PM that you played, without the need to submit a score (in case you didn't take a photo or screenshot, or you deemed the score to be too low).

The guys who are behind this game are the pride of the Hungarian old-school scene: the Muffbusters.
Important PSA: the built-in high score in the game ends with 200 points, therefore you have to do more than that to be able to enter your name. There's a new "Highscore reset" crack available, this is 100% the same as the original, but the high score list has been "reset", so any score will make it. This makes taking screenshots etc easier. Use it!
If you're seriously going to ignore this, and not play one round with this game over the weekend... I'm printing the "Official Lamer" certificates already, all I need to do is fill in the names!

I’ve been retroscener elsewhere for a while now. Sixteen Plus began feeling a bit creepy for a middle-aged guy, lol. I also don’t concentrate solely on the C16/Plus4 on my YouTube page now as I have a few other systems I enjoy too, and prefer to have a more single universal username for all my gaming accounts, even for new systems, they’ll become retro one day too anyway. Thanks for the name change. It is likely to be the final name change now, phew. You may all continue to call me Baz though. I want to change my avatar again soon once I create a new one I’m really happy with, but I forget how. I’ll just PM you a link to it if you can do it for me.
Gutted I missed Punchy & Big Mac. I would likely have won those rounds, lol.

Chronos, I'd like to ask you something.
You mentioned in some of your Let's Play videos, that you had played through several games with cheats.
Would you be so kind as to record them and make them available for all of us in the future if it is possible?
I don't have the chance to play through any of the games, but I would like to see later levels, game ends, too.
It doesn't matter if it is with cheats or not because I think many of these games will never have been played through without cheats in the future (because some of them are so difficult), so I think it is a good idea.
Your weekly reviews and some of your playthroughs could complete well each other.
And if anybody else played through a game, please share it with us.

I picked this up again after I dunno how many years. First try 14250. Then I tried on level 2; 18200. Then on level 3; 22800. If you can make it out, the added bonus at the end counts a lot, so maybe you should try the same thing on higher levels for an even better score.
Oh and Mark J Moore is a freaking genius. No flickering, no color clashes, everything is superbly animated and colorful, and above all, fun gameplay. Everyone, if you haven't voted for this game be sure to do so! IMHO it's a solid 9.

Re: Let's Play (2021) It took me a minute to familiarise myself with the controlling again. Not a great score but it’s been years since I last took a quick bosh at it.
I think MIK would have crushed this round, but I haven't heard from him in a long time. We have a video of him easily doing 77K, and then just stopping the video o_O It was just made to show off how to clear one level, not to get the maximum possible high score.

Would it be too much to ask picking games that don't make people jumping through hoops just to make a screenshot? Patric was already half a nightmare and Librarian proved to be even worse.
Something closely related to you, too. Could you somehow incorporate the score into the game over screen? It would've been so much easier to me. And, I guess, for others would be too. I had to record a video of my gameplay and extract the last frame my score was displayed in.

So, for this occasion, I made a special Let's Play edition of the game. If you lose, you'll be presented the meaningful "WELL... SEE YOU NEXT DAY!" message instead of destroying everything (right away), so you can screenshot your score

Pl.: - A Foxishban később már bevallja a program, hogy a SHIFTet fele időben lent kell tartani, fele időben fent a haladáshoz, de hogyan jutsz el odáig, ha ezt nem tudod? - A Castle Matcher-ben a kinti kakas látja ugyan a tárgyakat, de túl hülye hozzá, hogy megnevezze őket (mert focista, de bocsánatot kérek a sztereotípiáért), így kinézet alapján kell random berugdosni őket. - A Felcsút Tycoon-ban semmi nem mutatja, hogy a vasútvonalakon konkrétan vonatoknak kell menniük (N betűvel lehet összerakni őket, meg beállítani a menetrendjüket a települések között). - Végül a The Librarian véletlenül se említi meg, hogy több könyvet is fel tudsz kapkodni egyszerre, ha a helyzet úgy kívánja, és akár random bevagdoshatod őket polcokra, ha figyelsz arra, hogy a pontod ne menjen 0-ra... Thank you very much for the video, I got tears in my eyes And it's a huge help for me to see what I do wrong in my (otherwise experimental, I try to make non-categorizable ones) games: I don't give the player enough information about the tasks and possibilities. For example: - Foxish confesses at a later point in the game that SHIFT must be held down half the time and released the other half to progress, but how do you get to this info if you don't know about it already? - In Castle Matcher the rooster outside can see the objects but he's too stupid to name them (because he's a football player, I apologize for the stereotype), so you must kick them in based on their outlook. - In Felcsút Tycoon nothing is indicating that the railways must have actual trains running on them. You can assemble them pressing letter 'N', also you can set their timetable between settlements. - Finally, The Librarian doesn't mention at all that you can pick up more books *in one go* if the situation is like that, you can even drop them at any shelf if you make sure your score doesn't go to zero... Again, thank you for your time!

Re: Let's Play (2021) Attention players! I spent some spare time in order to join the challenge. After the first round has been completed, the opponent runs faster; after this second round, there are two opponents per screen and the game gets slower. At that point, the game has crashed to me, probably due a bad managing of the two foes' sprites during the screen solved session. Dunno if it has happen due bad luck, or if it's a claimed bug that will appear sooner or later in those conditions, but now you've been warned.
EDIT: did some tests cheating on the emulator, no crash at all; bad luck probably, what a pity...
Re: Let's Play (2021) Well done, Luca!! Looks like I had to reach a top score to aid a real competition It's relatively easy to figure out the AI, it's just that I die because I don't stand at the correct position or I don't expect a jump from a husband
I'm also sorry for your bad luck: SIX lives left and crash while hitting the top score, it's not a pleasant experience. It makes my case with video file overwriting much smaller - at least I could play to the last life!
At the end, don't forget the game's fun factor!! Great music, flying letters, many elevators, much slide!!
Re: Let's Play (2021) Ok, this is a bug confirmation: the crash happens randomly in that particular screen, when there are 3 sprites on the screen and one sprite crosses that lower slice of the level once the screnn has been solved. Sometimes it doesn't occur, sometimes it does: I've lost a score of 98000 ca. due the double pressing of the fire button, 'cause the game doesn't save any score, but I was absolutely after the infamous screen. This time it has happened on emulation (and that means: congrats Gaia, this witnesses the high quality of YAPE's reliability )

Edit: Okay, I’m struggling to remember the controls here. The fire button doesn’t function in one port, it just immediately quits the game in the other and back to the title screen. It means that I can’t use the teleport so I will die straight away. I am using a joystick adapter. I’m hoping nothing is wrong with my C16 itself.

Re: Let's Play (2021) I concur, MMS, it is a frustrating game. How does scoring work in it? HI seems to be uninitialised at the start and somehow coming from the BONUS countdown. So if it is higher than the first level bonus it probably will not change until you either reach level 2 or have SCORE higher than that. If it is initially lower than the starting value of BONUS than it means when you were killed. The sooner killed the higher the HI. Yet, SCORE doesn't change. Must you be reaching level 2 to get any SCORE? Confusing.
Re: Let's Play (2021) Robin to Rescue, had a copy of it on tape, never tried to play it seriously. This time I did, what a difficult game. Bad sound, but good concept. Are there really only four screens in total? And even MIK did not manage the 4th screen? Although my score is low, I managed to get in the 3rd screen, to be killed soon by an arrow....

Had a little trouble posting here due to a forum glitch last couple of days. Anyway, this is not even close to my best top leaderboard position score by far. I feel that there is an element of luck with the timeslip which often randomly adds on more time, which sometimes makes it impossible to beat.

Re: Let's Play (2021) Well... Ok, it's 1988, and the (Plus/4) world is in great need of knockout games. Here comes our hero, putting together some fluid animations and - TWO PADDLES! And it's all I can say about this game. The ball's bouncing is quite random. The graphics/sound are simple and functional, the level design is... minimal. Also, you'd think that when the "BONUS" is out, you'd get no bonus - but you die instead! At level 3, where every brick is a multi-hit one, and you can't aim precisely with the paddles, practically a timer runs out. My session lasted ten minutes, thinking about playing Arthur Noid instead.

Arena 3000 while on the surface is a nice little Robotron clone... sadly it gets to a point where the difficulty becomes capped and the game loops at this setting. If your good enough to reach the difficulty cap your find your self playing the game forever. It's not that challenging to be honest with a little more practice. You would be better off playing Tazz for high scores. Btw Arena 3000 also support 2 joysticks, one for movement the 2nd for fire.
Tutti Frutti I find the game glitches on the moveable pink block stage to the point the level can not be completed. If I remember correct the blocks stop killing the bad guys. The game is normally ok for a few plays but after a while this glitch comes into action. If you ever do play this one keep an eye out for it.
