About the music editors | In April, 2007 ern0 revealed some details about his music editor. Unfortunately, both editors are lost. Though, ern0 pointed out that they were rather uncomfortable to use, e.g. music data was stored and had to be edited in BASIC lines like these (REMs are just here to comment the data):
1001 DATA "AA--CCDDCC" :REM TUNES1 1002 DATA "CC--EEFFFDF" :REM TUNES2 1003 DATA "C-C-C-C-C-CC" :REM TUNES3 (THE SHORT ONES) 1004 DATA "E-E-E-E-E-EE" :REM TUNES4 (THE SHORT ONES) 1005 DATA "4444884444" :REM RHYTHM
Then, you had to start the editor and a BASIC and assembly language mixed code read the data and stored it into RAM. Subsequently, the player routine was copied and relocated to the memory following the music data.
Version 1 of his editors were using 5-6 parameters for one sound item, whereas version 2 were using 25. This meant that the entire screen was filled with music data which was confirmed by pressing a function key 25 times.
Thanks ern0 for remembering some details after all these years.
(Additionally, Ratt likely had a copy of it. Tarzan write this message to Ratt in Terror News 11: "Ratt: várom a zalka zeneszerkesztõjét! ez mindenképpen érdekel!!!!" Translation: Ratt: I'm waiting for Zalka's music editor! I care about this no matter what!) |
