Hi all,
i am just starting to get into assembler world and i am getting to like it.
I have programed for almost 35 years now in many languages and there are alwayss tools and developing environments, which can be recommended for every language.
If you like, tell us the tools and knowledgebases you prefer for development on the plus/4 for beginners like me. What do use?

I'm using Csabo's Plus4IDE 1.70 currently on Windows 10 64 bits.

Everyone has their favourite - its very personal.
Personally I'm very old school (who could have guessed!).
I edit with vi (I still can't bring myself to call it vim)., build with make, and use KickAss as my cross-asssembler.
Lots of people use Kick integrated with Eclipse if that's your thing.
Kick is equally at home on Window or Linux (its Java so it doesn't care!).
It is truely awesome. Probably the most powerful retro assembler out there, and it is actively supported. The author is super-responsive to feature requests in my experience. The scripting language is almost a full language in its own right.

Doug I agree with you. Tools are very personal. Thats the reason why i am asking. Always curious to explore and learn how other people are developing.
I use the last years Notepad++ as editor. I also worked with Csabo's Ide, which is very good, because of its Autocode menu.
Acme is the assembler at this state.

As you all know from the description of Promised Land I use CBM PRG STUDIO.
Just because we (Csabo + Me) could not make his IDE working on any of my 2 PC's and 2 laptops. WIN 8 and WIN7 x64.
If you're a hardcode democoder like Murphy you use KickAss. Nonplusultra.

I also recommend make+kickass+your fav text editor (vi,emacs,textpad,notepad++,sublime,...).

I read the main parts of the manual of Kick assembler.

I just started using Retro Assembler by Dale. I'm quite picky and emotional in selecting programs. I long wanted to use a real assembler instead of the integrated one, and it turned out to be quite handy with the Notepad++ integration and the simplicity in running.
I also have a level of synesthesia, that's why the red-green-blue colors.
