| Lode Runner +4
Kichy of ASN Crew just dropped a bombshell of a release on us: Lode Runner +4 is here! The classic game finally makes it to our platform. What makes a good game is ultimately the gameplay and this one is up there with the best. It's fast-paced platformer fun. The unpredictable enemy A.I. makes for a challenging gameplay. You have 150 levels to go through, but just in case that's not enough, there's a built-in level editor!
This is a pristine conversion, flawlessly executed, works on NTSC machines... What more could you ask for? Big respects to Kichy for bringing us this amazing game! |

I love this release. I don't know who I should praise more: the original developers for making an awesome game, or Kichy for doing the faithful conversion and making it happen. I guess they both deserve the credit.
Can I please pick the game to be converted next? I got my eyes on Newcomer
Bottom line: the scene could do with more stuff like this. |

That's the way to do it. Don't waste time on talking and other nonsense, just Do It. Lead by example. |

Bah, personally I reached a point in which I could both keep the mouth closed about an incoming release _or_ moan all the time enriching the forum by new topics |

I tihnk a fantastic idea would be to make GTW games. There's a few on the list.

There's also not a really decent footie game. Indoor Soccer being about the best we have. Kick-Off or International Soccer anyone?
Bruce Lee would be good too. |

Tynesoft was the reason is was not good!
Jetpac was released on VIC-20, tho I never played it.
I played the ZX Spectrum version. |

That's a pretty nice game as well, dynamic gameplay. It could probably be converted/remade on the Plussy. There are so many old Spectrum games that are awesome... |

Yeah, Spectrum games could make up for the crappy HW with excellent gameplay. Which reminds me that the person who ports AticAtac to the plus/4 will receive a crate of beer from me. |

This game is 1541 only, correct? |

 | Re: Lode Runner +4
@Retroshire yes, because it uses a specific trackloader to load the level's block at the beginning sector of the tracks from 03 to 12, and no alternative has been added for the rarer 1551. @KiCHY can authoritatively confirm this, as the game's author himself. |

@Luca thank you. I added a note in the description Disk 1541 only. |

Thank you. The usual contents on that line are: Disk or Tape, Tape only, 1541 only, 1551 only, Disk only (x sides).
I re-edited it as "1541 only". 1 |

The game does not have a special disc loader or writer. It uses only kernel functions to load/save high scores and load levels. The game uses kernel block read/block write commands like "u1:02 0 03 00" on channel #15. It should work with any device that implements full kernel functionality. |
