 Re: Datasette not loading

SD2IEC and Tapuino both work very well, of course the former is faster, even more so with JiffyDOS.

 Re: Datasette not loading

I know very little about Tapecart, but I don't remember reading about it having any kind of 264 series support. However, if you are willing to add a proper firmware interface for plus/4 and C=16 machines to it and write a native browser, I think you will be celebrated for the great achievement.

 Re: Datasette not loading

What would you recommend:

SD2IEC
Tapecart
Tapuino

I think tapecart with adaptor cable looks best?

 Re: Datasette not loading

Well, it seems that no amount of azimuth adjustment would help with that. Now it is the time to either try it with another Computer and Datasette or start some serious troubleshooting with instruments.

There is a cassette in there.

Even with the TV volume up to maximum there is no sound at all.

 Re: Datasette not loading

Sorry if this is too obvious: when you press play, there's a cassette in the datasette right? You should be literally hearing what's on it. If it's a program file, then it's the "usual" screeching. (You can try the exact same thing in YAPE as a test, attach any TAP file and "listen" to it.)

I've typed that in.

The border turns black.

When I press play, forward or reverse the border turns red.

I think it's this:

A0700 LDA $01
CLC
ADC #$38
STA $FF11
STA $FF19
JMP $0700
G 0700

 Re: Datasette not loading

Before you possibly ruin your azimuth alignment, you should check if any remotely detectable signal is coming from your Datasette at all. There was a miniature Assembly programme that you could even type in in Monitor to check signal presence. Unfortunately, I completely forgot what it was. sad Could someone please help?

 Re: Datasette not loading

I looked through the service manual but it didn't help me.

I'll try the azimuth.

I'll also look at sd2iec prices.

Thanks again.

 Re: Datasette not loading

Invest in a Sd2iec drive. They are not expensive. Old hardware is becomming unreliable. Except you are really enjoying fixing them.

 Re: Datasette not loading

Maybe you should perform the troubleshooting process detailed in the official Service Manual.

 Datasette not loading

I decided to set up my +4 to play a few games, but none of the tapes will load.

It's acting as if the tapes are blank.

LOAD [ENTER]

[PRESS PLAY]

Screen goes blue and the tape runs to the end.
Same for all tapes I tried.

Do you guys have any idea what's wrong please?

Thanks,
Scott
