THE REASONS BEHIND THIS GAME'S CRACK
HAVE BEEN GROWING AS TIME WENT BY,THE
MORE ONE I PLUMBED INTO THE DEPTHS OF
ITS PRODUCTION,AND THIS INDIRECTLY TELLS
US THE STORY OF THE GAME ITSELF.
SOMEONE HAD POSTED AN AMATEUR VIDEO OF
GAME'S DAY 1 IN ACTION ON A SOCIAL
NETWORK,SHOWING A SOMEWHAT CORRUPTED
SPRITE. TO MY SURPRISE,IT WASN'T SOME
BAD HACK OF THE GAME,BUT THE ORIGINAL
ONE! THE DISCOVERY REQUIRED A FURTHER
INVESTIGATION,AND THE RESULTS TELL US
THE STORY BEHIND THE GAME'S DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS DAY2 APPEARS TO BE A COMPLETE
AND PROFESSIONAL PRODUCT WHICH EXPLOITS
THE CAPABILITIES OF THE C16,DAY1 SEEMS
TO BE A DERIVATIVE HACK OF THE FORMER,IN
WHICH THE SPRITE INEXPLICABLY HAS BEEN
SHRUNK OF A COUPLE OF PIXELS,ANIMATED IN
A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WAY,INSIDE OF A
WASTEFUL PROGRAMMING IN TERMS OF UNUSED
MEMORY,FOR A REDUCED PLAYABILITY TO THE
POINT THAT EVEN THE RECORDS TO BEAT ARE
FAKE:THE GAME DOES NOT TAKE IN COUNT ANY
RECORD!

THE BORDERS;

MAIN FEATURES HAVE BEEN CUT IN ORDER
TO ATTEMPT TO PLAY THE GAME ON NTSC
MACHINES TOO,BUT THE CODE HAS SHOWN A
DIFFUSED WASTE OF RASTERTIME IN SINGLE

Sprite Fixing
The weirdest of the flaws of Day 1 is undoubtedly the sprite: it is a hack of the sprite used in Day 2 but shrunk by a couple of pixels, animated with a completely different programming, with waste of unused memory despite the evident loss of pieces of the graphics in the process.

This crackfixed version shows a reconstruction of the sprite, with many parts redrawn pixel by pixel in the name of the best compromise between consistency with the sprite of Day 2 and different code structure.
