 Congratulations BSZ!

BSZ of NST, one of the +4 myths of code, reached the 2nd place in the Function03 party Retro Demo compo, with the demo "Questionmark".
All the ppl at the 4ever03 party in Szeged can understand how much powerful the BSZ production is, hence we can picture what that 2-points-below 2nd place would mean.

Yeah, strange! An all-time one-of-the-greatest demo hits second place on a democompo and no word in the news happy

 Re: Congratulations BSZ!

Maybe Csabo tought that there is a new topic and a small review at the file record, thus no need for a news item happy However, we'd like to see a news item pointing to the demo's record as well! happy

 Re: Congratulations BSZ!

If I am not mistaken the demo makes heavy use of $ff1a/1b in hires mode. Congrats for actually using it in a demo! I have been wondering for years why nobody ever used this. The only effect I know of is the "linecruncher" in Dr.Deaths demo "Brainwash".

Ok, now somebody else please do some nice Tech-Tech, a fullscreen picture crunch/zoom, FLI scroller etc, its not that complicated after all happy

The digiplayer is really a nice feat, maybe it can be extended to load from disk while playing because the short sampleloop may be a bit annoying after a while happy

 Re: Congratulations BSZ!

Another example that makes a good use of the $FF1A/B tricks is the 1st Demo from TLC. Actually that one seems to had been released even earlier than Brainwash (which is an excellent demo).

 Re: Congratulations BSZ!

Only one word springs to mind after watching this; "wow!". Actually that's not true, because a few more sprung to mind too but they were all rude! =-) The music got a little annoying after a while, but the effects were excellent and i particularly like the swirling text at the end.

 Re: Congratulations BSZ!

hey TLC, what about that external program which we had talked about? I mean: use the original SIDpacker V01.22, and THEN use a frqtable converter+relocator...
