SVS, print a few Euros also, as we may need them for the strange 1551 mentioned elsewhere in this forum. I have bid on this, and will have the drives shipped to you if he will not ship them to me.

So it has..... well the seller is known for putting up items then cancelling for no reason. I just ran a check to see if it had been relisted but as of 8:02am New York time it has not.

The 'Buy It Now' has been dropped to US$4500.

Still $3000 more than he gave for it.

I went ahead and bid a ridiculously low amount ($US250) just to see what would happen. wink

Didn't he say the last time he listed this that this was gonna be the last time he would, whether it sold or not?

Re: Anyone have $5000 to spare?

I don't suppose anyone will even reach the reserve amount - I bet it's >$2000. Of course there's always the chance of the scene buying it together. $4500 divided by how many people? Perhaps less than $500 per head would be affordable to most of us. But of course the problem would be who actually get's the machine... happy (I think I opened up an ugly can of worms with that one wink)

Man I wish I'd won the lotto.

Re: Anyone have $5000 to spare?

Wow, it was sold for $3499, that must have been the reserve price...

Let's hope that the new owner will release David Haynie's design documents...

Having those DOC's would be an outmost pleasure =) I guess not even the C64 has such... I saw the guy was probably from Germany, so maybe someone with native language knowledge could contact him? wink

Re: Anyone have $5000 to spare?

I see that the ONLY bid that meets or exceeds the reserve price was placed just seconds before the auction ended. And since there was such a large jump from $1600 to $3499, then $3499 must have been the reserve price.

I suspect that someone asked what the reserve price was, and was told.... as unfair as that may be, since Dan has tried to sell it 4 times now, maybe he was willing to answer the question in order to recover his investment.
