 Pi4 and Yape in RetroPie

Hello Guys,

I began my project with a raspberry Zero in a GPI-Case. Yape runs very good. Thursday I got my pi4 to use it with RetroPie. I installed Yape. It runs, but their is no sound. The Zero sounds well.

Anyone an idea?

Re: Pi4 and Yape in RetroPie

- Retropie buster 4.7.1-Image installed on Pi4
- Yape installed from this instruction: https://ramokromok.com/features/adding-commodore-plus-4-emulators-yape-and-vice-to-retropie
- no sound on my monitor, no matter, which soundchip is selected in Yape

Which more information do you need? Sorry, but this topic is really new to me and Yape on Retropie is not often founded in google .

I have no idea, but Baz who is a member here has set it up successfully. There is a forum topic on it here:

Maybe when he pops by he can help you out.

Re: Pi4 and Yape in RetroPie

I read the topic, but he uses a Pi3. It runs with sound on a Pi Zero, which was installed 2 or 3 months before. is there something changed on the sources the last 3 months?

Sound ok on Pi Zero, Pi3
no Sound on Pi4

Is there an ini on Linux which I can compare from both installations?

Update: It seems to be a problem with the Pi4, because it does not make sound on the +4-Emu from Vice either. C64 runs...

Re: Pi4 and Yape in RetroPie

Sounds more like a pi4 emulation issue for the 264 series if it isn’t working with any emulator for our platform. Could it be a problem with a bios rom which the pi4 isn’t reading properly?, as you mention it works with Vice64 but not with Vice264. Sounds like a bugfix issue for the pi4 devs. Think I will hold out on upgrading for a while.

@Baz: Thx for your answer. Do I understand it right that the only thing to do is wait for the pi4 developers? How do they get this mistake info?

Could this be an SDL issue?

Re: Pi4 and Yape in RetroPie

I have the solution: Yesterday I connected my pi to the tv in the living room - there is sound on Yape. Only on my pc-monitor connected with HDMI there is no sound. I do not understand...

Re: Pi4 and Yape in RetroPie

Maybe it outputs an audio format that your monitor can't decode. (DTS?)
