I've just bought it. Can't believe I've been looking for this game since I was 16 years old. Think my collection is now complete.

Re: Cuthbert enters the Tombs of Doom

I always thought you were looking for the multi-game Cuthbert bundle they once released Chris. Think it was 5-6 games in all. A couple never worked on the Plus/4 so took it back seeing as what did work was substandard for the amount I spent on it. Think I came home with Mercenary which they just got in. AVIT!

Never seen this Cuthbert enters the Tombs of Doom big box before tho, great find. Enjoy! happy

Haha isn't that just typical. Chris has been after this holy grail of his collection for 23 years and then suddenly a whole batch of them turn up at once like a number 42 bus

Typical, just like buses. All come at once, but still worth it to complete my collection.

Just as luck would have it, I took a small liberty of recording a video of Chris's (then near) complete collection at the retro derby event last year.

Re: Cuthbert enters the Tombs of Doom

It's hard to identify my rarest items but I love my Commodore 232, 256k Plus 4, the Mercenary Compendium, custom hardware and now the big box Cuthbert. It's just so nice to have my whole collection in my office at work so I can play when I've got time. Even had my four year old son playing C16 games in the office. I've been collecting since 1984/85 and only now I think I've got just about everything.

Re: Cuthbert enters the Tombs of Doom

Congratulations! How many comercial games have been released for our system? Our database here cannot filter i a game is commercial or not.

Re: Cuthbert enters the Tombs of Doom

hi, good point! My best guess is that most c16 games are commercial ones, very few plus4 games released,as i know. Most +4 games converted from c64,could not fit into 16k

Re: Cuthbert enters the Tombs of Doom

There are a fair few 32K and above commercial games out there it's just you only remember the good ones that make it feel less. wink

As always you wish we had a load more tho. Real shame the C16 never came with 64k as standard, the Vic20 never had 20k did it...

Re: Cuthbert enters the Tombs of Doom

For a collector its very helpful to know about the exact (so far known) amount of releases to see where he stands. In my case i would be more interested in the commercial games during the lifespan of the 264 series.

Just ideas for improvements.

Re: Cuthbert enters the Tombs of Doom

While that sounds cool it would need another filter as you may only collect from your own region, much of Chris collection are titles from the UK, as is my own collection.

While not all tapes have been made into .tap, tapes are your best bet for looking at most things from a Commercial point of view. Commercial floppies for our system were very rare in the UK any way. There are a small number though, the only one I have is Mercenary, not that I've been looking for more...
