hey, there will be a "diskbugyi" aka "disk cover" compo!

the rules:

Disk covers can be submitted scanned or printed. Any technique allowed. Entries will be exhibited in quality printed b/w during the party and voted the same time as demo/gfx/msx. You can find the official template at the download section. Reasonable variance to form is allowed but it should have author, title and 'vote number' placed on it. One entry/person. Deadline: 03.July 23:59 (2 days before the party).

Definitely can't do it this year Our summer is already planned out in advance, cause we have to book vacation time from work, etc. No trips anywhere overseas this year for us either. Maybe next year... but we don't have things planned THAT far ahead.

Last year was totally awesome though happy I'm sure this year will be a blast as well, you guys be there and represent! Make sure to chant "Édesanyám kapcsojjaki..." a few times happy We'll be totally looking for the news, photos and party reports.

We rule only 3 % on the visitorlist. Please help me to pump it (ofkoz with right datas) and make a cool plussy-inside-party like last years and let's make good demos, or fastdemo, like last years!

Porold le a cuccod, irj egy spriteot,
Add be a nevezésed, igyál Spiretot,
Megéri eljönni, mert árulnak Spriteot,
Nyereményként kapsz majd Spriteot.

This was the plus4 invitation for Arok. It is very multilangual-able, so please come and drink with us!

If I'm not mistaken, past years it was also a 264 party.

 Re: AROK 2013

Yo,

although I'm not sure yet, if I could come, but I would really like to,
however there is a question - is there somebody from 264 scene, who is going there from Budapest and could take me with him? (Well, and then back to Budapest, in Sunday)?

Seems like I have a good train connection and I could be there on Friday, at 8:35 AM.
If anybody could pick me up and then we could travel to the party, it would be nice.

My return train to PL would be on Sunday, 20:05.

I would take my C116 64K with a diskdrive and SidCard, plus some audio speakers. It will be heavy for a train-trip but I think I could manage.
The only crap thing would be a TV-set: for a train I could take only a tiny 7" screen. So maybe somebody could lend me some proper 14" CRT on the place, hehe.

Anyway, for now I'm just considering it, I know I'm in the 264 community not so a long time (about 2006, if I recall) but I have never been on such a meeting, so would be cool to go.

If anybody would be able to help, pls write me to

Lengyel, magyar – két jó barát és mégsem válaszolt senki Yerznek má vagy 6 napja.
Srácok, ébresztő! Lesz valaki Pestről?
Köszi!

 Re: AROK 2013

Ahem-ahem!
Polish, Hungarian - two good friends and yet no one responded to Yerz for like 6 days.

Thanks!

The two guys I know they *might* be going from Pest (and I don't know if they are, I don't want to speak for them) are Gaia and TLC. I think they might not visit the site daily, so give it some time.

I do hope someone will be coming and you can hitch a ride... Not much I can help with unfortunately.

 Re: AROK 2013

There is about 51% chance of me going to AROK subject to last minute cancellation due to family reasons anytime so really do not count on me on thatesp. after such a long journey...

Here's a timetable of the bus schedules but it's a mind wrenching 3 hour ride... (look for 'Ajkarendek') http://www.volanbusz.hu/menetrend.php?menetrend=1240&dir=to

There can be many more attendants from Budapest in other (C64) forums. I would propose CSDB...

Well, what can I say - _somehow_ we could manage to go to the place (Lisu already has been there, so this time we could go together from Budapest) but returning - he goes to completely different place (Bratislava of Slovakia), so still I can't confirm I could come.

 Re: AROK 2013

Hi, unfortunately my chance dropped to almost zero. Due to a small beast bite and a fever, doctors inspected me, and next to CT I passed lumbar puncture 2 days ago. A terrible headache developed, that makes me very-very slow, and unable to drive, as i cannot rotate my head. Hopefully it disappears within 3-4days, but over a week is possible. Sorry. (remark: although it is a routine inspection, up to 70% of victims reported terrible headache, some completely immobile for days. Be warned, do not allow it blindly as me!)

 Re: AROK 2013

So, about 4 Emelet, there's basically no change from last year. I personally talked to Leon about it, I'm pretty sure we established the exact same thing: the hires graphics should be a 1:1 match, and the small portraits (which use sprites on C64) would have to be re-done with fewer colors.

Of course, this is not a complaint about their project moving too slow. I am not allowed to make such comments happy

Aaaah, thank you for the photos. Nice to see you guys! Probably next year

One comment: the GFX compo pictures look strange colored Maybe due to the beamer? It is very hard in such conditions to distinguish between nice and average pictures (this year I had no release, so I am allowed to put such comments, haha! For me the color difference of Django seems really shocking).

"Tisztitja a földet, termet / Erre jó a Csabo permet!" (Sorry, that was a silly fake slogan advertising this most excellent product.)

My favourite was the two pictures labelled "Party coding". Go Csio!

MMS, the flash and/or the lighting made the pictures massively overexposed. You can most clearly see this effect on the C64 picture "Arok Girl": half the brighter tones turned completely white.

Edit: Ah, I got a "better" one "Tisztitja a földet, termet / Vegyen Ön is Csabo permet!"... I crack myself up.

Interesting enough it's done by Zephyr/Elysium from C64.

... and next issue is going to talk about LN. I know because I was giving some interview to the creators of this show about how cool gfx in this game is. LN is really a big thing! Some polish 8bit Atari guys are talking about porting it to XL/XE... good luck wink

 Re: AROK 2013

I went to Arok twice, and I enjoyed it soooo much! It had been a very productive time especially with the friendly cool partnership with ppl like Degauss: with him we'd taken the whole scene to join into cooperation megademos/trackmos, literally invading Arok with the Plòus/4 presence.

In the last times, it has been more difficult to reach Arok: he's a daddy now, the party dates rarely matched in a good way my vacations and, most of all, best would be go there with something to show all in all. I only postponed my sure comeback to Ajkarendèk anyway wink

 Re: AROK 2013

Thanks for the photos and all the stuff you guys were showing off. This years AROK is somewhat special on the plus/4 side: Many cool graphics in the compo and cool game previews. I really can imagine how ATI caused some ooh's and aaah's wink It's also great to get a hands-on impression on AiT2. I think it looks marvelous and the gameplay is quite nifty - yet hard. I'm very happy with what i saw, and i think this is even a more interesting yield as just one or two demos...

@Luca,@Csabo: its now about 40 months i'm a daddy to my little son wink He's a wonderful boy, i can assure you. But i really didn't post any photos on FB or made birthtros and stuff - I've become quite a techno-pessimist and thought i shall leave no traces on the web of him until he can decide about that himself.

Yeah, thanks for asking, everything is OK happy We were pretty lucky; the only thing that happened to us was that power went out Monday afternoon (so we didn't even know about the flooding until they next morning). One co-worker had a relative stuck in traffic for a few hours, that was the worst I personally heard.

A lot of inconvenience to people and some property damage, but overall I have to say it was "not that bad". No-one died after all, and everywhere I look in the news the natural disasters and wars claim a lot of lives... But enough of that, sorry about getting off topic, back to party time happy
