 Geos

I am looking for the English version of GEOS. Does anyone know where I can find it? The version on Plus/4 World is German. Many thanks people.

 Re: Geos

So with the link dead and the only other one being for 64/128 only is the English version not available?
Does anyone have a link or something they can send me to help me out?

Well, it's... it's, ah... probably pining for the fjords.

SVS may have it, since he's the one who did the translation.

 Re: Geos

GEOS is currently under copyright, at least as I know.

What JamesC with cmb264.com did obtain, was the authorization to supply a copy of Plus/4 GEOS 3.5 (German or English version) to any user owning any original GEOS disk.
The copy of Plus/4 GEOS becomes legal with the serial of GEOS 2.0 (or any other version) boot disk.

Be informed that English version has not the images converted, then some texts embedded inside images are still in German.

I've just sent a message to JamesC in order to know current situation.

 Re: Geos

So maybe we will get somewhere. I don't suppose owning an original C64 GEOS will count in my favour somehow?

be patient a bit and I'll keep you informed. I believe there is a choice happy

 Re: Geos

SVS mentioned above that any GEOS disk will do, my impression was that C64 GEOS would count. I have one too BTW happy In fact, my guess is that everyone only has C64 versions. Us not having an original GEOS cover on the site means that no-one in this community actually owns a real Plus/4 version.

I'll be honest and admit that I never looked into it seriously. Why would you even need it? Are you actually going to use it to write documents or something?

 Re: Geos

Hello Csabo. Of course I am not looking to do any kind of work with GEOS plus/4! I am posting this message on a really serious pc and therefore "don't need" a plus/4. However I have never been able to get rid of my plus/4 as I have had it since 1986 and love it too much! For me the plus/4 is all about fun and nostalgia and no-one here needs me to explain this.
The plus/4 always deserved GEOS.

 Re: Geos

I get the nostalgia part big time. It's just that I never owned GEOS and somehow I was satisfied with just looking at the screenshots (I might have loaded it up a few times). So to me the nostalgia is in doing things I used to do. Well, anyway, I get it, you're basically just curious. I was curious about why you were curious happy

 Re: Geos

IMO the true value of GEOS is the code. Really genial. I read some documentation (ref. GEOS 2.0 - C64) and my admiration goes to the coders, hat off!

P.S. - There was a sort of porting, because many entry points and jumps are commons between C64 and +4 versions.
