 Re: Arok #9

Ok, if I got the news: Jedi (I talked with him on CSDb about +4 bitmap features) did 4th in the graphics compo, and Larry/Wilds (+ several others) completely dominated the party with his new production!

 Re: Arok #9

Hi!

It was a great party! I have just uploaded my party pictures to my site:
http://www.lightside.hu/gallery/

@Luca: I think you confuse me with someone else, I'm not registered on CSDb. Maybe there is an another Jedi or somebody performed a mind trick on you. happy
But, as far as I remember, we talked on the Plus/4 forum at demoscene.hu a few years ago...

Well, unfortunately I'm not too active, maybe FLaG'96 or AntIQ'98 was the last party I was on. And this mcfli pic on Árok9 is my first release in my life.

And I didn't know that it received the 4th place, so I'm very happy now. happy

 Re: Arok #9

@Jedi: Uh... I simply got these news from Rachy, but if you say you hadn't presented a +4 pic... Omg, who the hell drew a +4 picture then? happy
I'm back from a fantastic gig and from all my mates at my prefer pub, maybe I'm a bit drunk, but it's scandalous we're missing yet the winner demo! happy
Apropos, Rachy told me it was very similar to this one on Amiga...

oh yeah! congratulations larry!

that demo really rocks. the animplayer is fast, the background-images are very very pretty and the overall flow is also cool. must have kicked serious ass on the bigscreen.

 Re: Arok #9

Yea, the demo is really great, I agree.

Too bad, that at the compo the organizers screwed up a little the presentation of the demo, because at first time the SID was very-very low volume, and the demo lost its flow without the music. Then they showed it one more time from Yape, but then the first-time-hit-on-the-head effect is already gone.

C64 folks were annoyed a bit that this demo was a lot better than the C64 releases. They kept grumbling: "We can do that too...", so I was pretty sure they were amazed too... wink

 Re: Arok #9

i think that happens most of the time with sid-demos: a +4 with sid-card is some kind of "frankenstein-hardware" to most of the c64-sceners (and - to be honest - the same applies to me. everybody should use ted-sound instead. sounds cooler wink ). i never heard any moaning as long as something runs on original hardware right from the stock.

 Re: Arok #9

Another party photo gallery from Stack J. :
http://devlin.uw.hu/Arok_Party_9/index.php

@Luca: happy Meanwhile, I sent the pic to Csabo, so I hope he'll put it on the site soon.

@Chrono: Poison held the presentation. First, he said a few words about the project, then he showed two videos about the making of the game. It was very intertesting. happy
Then four brave pioneers (including me happy) tried the game with great enjoyment. And the audience really enjoyed the game too. wink

@Rachy: First time we tried to show Larry's demo with my sidcard, but, unfortunately, this card is just a prototype card, you can't adjust the volume on it. And because it's a variant of the Solder-card, it's very quiet in default.

 Re: Arok #9

Good, and I added all the useful stuff to Pouet too, fighting as any time because the first who uploaded Arok's entries did everything wrong, adding a new party's entry and selfreferring FOR THE NTH TIME > the usual "8bit demo" compo as "c64 demo" compo...

Wanna see the pic, also I would preserve from the corrosion of time with the Exin's pic we'd seen months ago.

Yeah, it's kinda frustrating that you can't edit most stuff on pouet once it's entered incorrectly... :/

But wtf about the party pics; +4 party without a single plus4.... YAPE is really dominant now. :D And that monster c16 keyboard feeding floppy disk chewing animal. :D wow.

@Luca: how true. The rate between 8bit machines and the rest was about 50-50%.
