If you want to smooch with a skeleton... This is really a preview. You can run, pass through every door, and hide. And rewind time. If you want to try the game, this is not for that.
For archiving purposes... Maybe.

It was unnecessary to put it on the site.

I can't begin to tell you how wrong you are happy Thank goodness that stuff that gets submitted to the compos has to be made public.

Having to see you play it on the live stream but not being able to try it for ourselves is torture! wink

It was unnecessary to put it on the site.
This version is a release that was put together at the party, for the party, which is considered a rough hack.
But what everyone somehow overlooked is that if you die, you can use the fire button (Shift) to rewind the last 8 seconds or so.
And of course, you can rewind as much as you want while pressing the fire button. Eight seconds is the maximum.
(As long as you have the willpower to do so.)
No eye changes anything, Luca.
If you stand in front of the cabinet (exactly) and press the up button, the wizard hides and summons a mouse using his own soul. (The fire button will changes this back.)
The eyes in the cabinet is the hiding wizard's eyes.
The eyes who speak to you? Well, it's another day's story. ;)
The mouse can go into small spaces, the golem won't hurt it, and you can use it to do a little reconnaissance.
It cannot go to other rooms!
Since no one has written about the goal of the game yet, the goal is to collect 8 rune stones on 8 levels. The stones are hidden in 4 pieces on the level. (1 rune stone per level.)
Finding each piece of the rune stone will advance the story!
There are other secrets as well, such as where the question mark gate is and how it opens.
The goal is to get to the exit with the rune stone. And of course, there is much more to it than that if you want a good ending.
And don't compare the game to Tir-Na-Nog. It has nothing to do with it, and I'm not a fan of that game either.
There will be many more interesting things, but the reason I wanted to show it is that, to my knowledge, there is no other Commodore game that has time rewinding.

I also recommend paying attention to the stamina system. When it runs out, the wizard pants heavily; when you are in the yellow zone, he pants more slowly, and in the green zone, he pants the slowest.
When you are in the same room as the golem, the music changes and the wizard looks nervously from side to side, checking to see if his nemesis is coming.

Oh, and @Luca!
One more thing. Please, don't touch the musics. When the game ready, I will send all music to you.
But now, maybe there will some changes in the music.
And a bad news for you: There won't be any points now.
The game ranking is based on the total and level complete times.

In this game I dropped the old-school life system. No lives. You have willpower, time rewind, and you can repair your mistakes with that until the willpower will be empty.
No punisment for a little error. No -1 life. You want to play, right? Then play!

 Re: Retrogods Preview

There's a map to call pressing M, there's a walking character around, there's an exit, there's an unreachable zone indicated with a questionmark, there are spoken eyes in the dark closets which transform you in something smaller but once fire is pressed you turn back to the original place, there's a clear hint about multiple levels...

I definitely would to know more!
