 Re: 1581 replica drives

I really want one for my Commodores at my mother's house. I believe she showed me some money I have in the bank and was told it was off-limits. I have to ask her about it the next time I'm there. happy

 Re: 1581 replica drives

I was also kind of fascinated by the project. Since >10 years I dream about to own one 1581, and I even tried to buy an original kit.

I also wanted to build some (fully black, even adjusted the legal stuff with the 3D housing desinger (I wanted it in full black)), unfortunately my PCBs lost during transport.
So I dropped a project for a while.

Udpdate: finally I am happy we can buy a fully, professional package. Yeah, it is not cheap, but we need to understand the work behind, and the new Commodore floppy drives were never really cheap (du to their complex build).
