Author's Notes | The aim was to challenge the C128 VDC Mania demo shown on Youtube.
The idea was: +4 has more colors and it can compensate higher resolution of C128, especially at edges. With intensive search on internet, most of the original pictures of the C128 VDC Mania were found. Then slight fine-tuning happened on the colors and color depth, and converted with Plus4Emu's p4fliconv_gui into HFLI mode 320x200 resolution pictures. Certainly +4 palette provide better shades, but can it be a match to the C128's 640x400 resolution?
You can compare these pictures to the C128 VDC Mania version, and may conclude if +4 can do it better or not ? :-)
UPDATE: pictures swapped with more realistic, YAPE 1.2.0 pictures Yeah, I see pixel failures here and there, but back at that time I did not master the DHFLI picture editing tools :-)
Special thanks to : -David Bruce Haynie - who developed/finalized under Bil Herd the TED chip: I think with the huge palette this compact IC was ahead of it's time, despite different management focus (no gaming-->no SID, just square waves; no sprites). -Istvan Varga - his great emulator, GFX converter and slideshow tool (+programming skills) let this program happen.
