| Description | This slideshow was an experiment to find the proper balance between the colors, resolution and picture stability (vibration) to be used for high resolution but still colorful pictures. Because of this FLI, HFLI, and IHFLI pictures are also made, and in some cases the dithering was set to very low and number of colors reduced to 32 or 64.
With my current knowledge I would not call all the pictures "great", but was very happy when I finished with an acceptable result :-) ~50% of the pictures could be done MUCH better after I learned the greatness of non-interlaced HFLI and dithering tricks.
As a conclusion, the HFLI pictures provide enough resolution, and enough color (with proper low dithering setting on a 128- 256 colored picture) to say it faithfully reproduce the original BMP pictures (as a suggestion, always use BMP or other compression free format to keep the picture improvement effects. JPG gives extra moire to the picture with even 100% quality setting, and it gerenates bad pixels after conversion). Use median filter with very low setting beforehand and play enough with the Plus4emus GFX converter settings. The Interlace pictures do not add so much in the final result to compensate the irritating vibration, at least on emulators. The use of GFX compression of the Plus4Emu converter GUI is highly suggested. It is a lossless compression; significantly decreases loading time, and saves a lot of space on the disc.
Have fun! :-D
These are the pictures as seen on Plus4Emu with CRT display emulation mode, Quality 3 setting:
