Did he got problems because selling the stuff, or simply for possessing the converted games? Actually it's illegal to reverse-
engineer, or modify (convert) the games. Also it is illegal to do derivative work on a product. (You not convert it, but recode the stuff on the info you could gather about it for example by playing it.
Actually Microsoft found a cheat around this, and used it to make the first MS-DOS version, and got away with it clean.)
And of course the possesion of illegal copies is illegal.

Mike, what would happen if for example someone, would convert the C64 version of Lemmings (property of DMA design) over to the Plus4.
(Absolutely theoretical question). I guess the original programmers might step over tha fact with a wow, but it is always possible that somenone might felt pissed off, also the reaction of a management like guy is quite unpredictable.... even that the plus4 can be considered dead from their point of view.
