 Communicate!

And to help you all in doing that, I've added 3 new fields to the member record: ICQ, Messenger and Skype. Check out bubis' record (and you can thank him for requesting this change). Anyone who is a member can edit their own record, put in this info if you wish.

 Re: Communicate!

In a Messenger field, one might wish to differentiate what messenger you use. Here in the States, the most common are AIM (AOL), Yahoo, and MSN Messengers, plus the smaller private networks.

Sure, you can put that in brackets after the value if you like.

You didn't have the rights before, but I just gave it to you. You should see an [ edit ] link, or you can click the Edit Page from Home.

That's alright then... thought it was me going off me rocker! =-) Okay, added my ICQ number (it's online most days) and a "corrupted" email address that people should be able to use if need be as well.

 Re: Communicate!

Actually I was thinking about doing the same for member last names. I saw that some guys changed their name to just their initial. (I'm not sure why exactly.) Maybe if the site did this automatically, and showed the full name for registered members? Is that needed?

In my opinion this has not to be done automatically. If one want to not spread his name on the net, he can modify directly (or ask to be modified to Csabo).
I have be recontacted by old friends only because they did find my name inside the Plus4word dBase, being the lone internet location where it is.
Of course the email address is another matter, cause the spiders...
