 HVTC Update September 2025

So much time had to pass, but now it's time for an update: the High Voltage TED Collection gets updated today!

We had to add 44 new song files. Most of them are from some brand new releases, with Csabo's production on top of all, but there are some footprints on the ground indicating the presence of some golden era gems. Again, we had to change a ton of files, due to some little fixes, and most of all to have "reactive" files, i.e. files needing keys to start playing: in order to make'em play even on straight emulations with no keyboard input involved, let's force'em to play at the beginning anyway.

Hey but... With this new update, we broke the thousand files! Yes, that's for real, this last pack boasts 1035 single files! happy thousand to us! All the changes have been reported in the whatsnew.txt available.

Don't forget to completely delete the whole previous collection (that's the way to do at any new update!), then download/unzip the new one!
This is the straight link to the ZIP file.

Thanks for the update!

The music quality is rising every year, both technically and musically. Csabo's and Cobbpg's recent efforts in generating bass sounds is admirable. Cobbpg is the first who managed to produce pure controlled bass sounds without any interference, to my knowledge. Hats off!

I don't think I talked about this anywhere, but the title screen music in Donkey Kong is technically DigiSaw V1.3. All the music runs from the main program, leaving the IRQ only for digi, and the digi values are set at the beginning of the IRQ call. That's as uniform as it can be, it's the most accurate digi playback possible with the TED's timer.

I think my contribution is disproportionately oversold here. All I did was toggle a bit based on a timer interrupt. happy
