Very busy looking setup for the price of a couple of working C16's, but yeah you can argue it will last a lot longer than the real iron. 
Glad you have something running tho, out of interest what, (if there is any) is the sound lag like?
The game Thrust might be a good game to test the keyboard, it might even test your set up as it displays very differently just like Tom Thumb does compared to most other games.
