fun fact: Orion is a Hungarian traditional brand, back in the day produced with cooperation with AIWA some stuff, including TVs. My parents had an Orion TV too, and I made with my Plus/4 burned in picture due to my several hours long graphix edition sessions. So they could slightly see my pixel dragon during waching Dallas! 
Doug, Actually most of the modern TVs have different picture modes, also utilizing some post effect. Try not using it "Computer/PC" mode (supposely you use SCART or CVBS too, like me), but try some modes with dithering effect. Natural and Photo setting usually add this, while Computer mode significantly increases sharpness and contrast, does not help to simulate CRTs.
