 !RE graphics conversion competition!

Hallihow Folks!
----------------------------

I think its time for a little graphics competition! The task is so simple, you need to convert the provided picture as faithful as you can! There is a little twist you can experience it when you load it into your favourite converter app i tell ya grin Full gray/blue/etc.. colored or too intensive dithered entry means disqualification. The deadline is the 22th of February, 2019.

The picture belongs to Capcom Ltd., all rights reserved and respected, we are using it as only a part of an experiment. No profit were made whatsoever.

Here's the link you can download the picture (1080x600) but of course you can use other source, there is a lot of them. The point is you NEED to use this picture as we expect Leon and Claire grin

HERE IT IS

Members of the jury: Siz and Chronos.
Prize: We'll buy a beer (or beers if we are amazed enough) at Arok for the Winner (If you cannot attend at Arok, we'll buy that beer, drink it and shoot a selfie for you grin)

You can send your entry to my email.

Oh, i'm soo excited grin

Wow, great idea!

The picture is nice, but a reaaaally challenging one...
Some color and pixel fixing artwork in an editor is allowed, or forbidden (pure conversion only)?

Certainly I am in, you "selfiesh" beer drinker gang! happy

 Re: !RE graphics conversion competition!

Hi MMS (and all interested),

we would like to find the best conversion workflow. So any preparation, format conversion, resize, etc. is allowed before the conversion but not after that.

As for an entry we need:
- the actions you made to the original pic to get the state before conversion (eg. converted to plus/4 palettized, resized, etc)
- the picture before conversion (.png or .jpg),
- the converted .prg (any format allowed, hires, multicolor, FLI, etc.)
- the name and version of the converter
- settings for conversion

(we will release the entries after the compo closes)

Enjoy your beer! I won't take part in this competition, with my poor try in HighRes Mode. Best i could do.

I sent by email, but attach here the HFLI version.
It was a very challenging picture, and I think I've overdone it. :-)

 Re: !RE graphics conversion competition!

Thanks, George, but I think your version is better. happy Sharper, more easy to recognise faces.

Just check out, on mine you cannot recognize even the police sign.
I think I used way too much median filter and too much dithering. Next time will be better ! :-)

Thank you for the opportunity! Meet you at Arok, and we will drink enough happy

Would be great if George could come too, though it will be hard to challenge his German beers happy
