Apart from points c, and d, it was known to me, too 
It's a pity there's not much useful info on this drive anywhere. I'll dig a bit into the ROM disassembly then and see what I can find out.
I'm still curious about the interrupt source(s) on the 1551 and the exact role of the processor port. So, if anyone happens to know that....
