To use two 1551's on a Plus/4 or 16:
1. Turn on the drive that you intend to be Unit 9. (On power-up, it will be Unit 8.)
2. Send this command:
OPEN 15,8,15,"%" : CLOSE 15
3. Turn on the other 1551.
The % command tells the 1551 to toggle between 8 and 9, which is why it has to be done before the second 1551 is powered on.
