Kopsec have you done this before on commodore computers ?
The thread has stated that lack of sinks will damage the SID in long-term.
I would like to say that living in a cooler environment actually prolongs the life of your computer circuits. Fact in point: when i lived in Western Sydney (large flat & hot city) computers had an average life span of 3-4 years. Now living in the Blue Mountains which is on average 8-10c cooler, i have not had computer circuit failure. Just one elecrtical fault which caused a dyeing power supply to smoke up. These days they all come with circuit/surge/electriclal portection anyhow. Hope this all helps !
