 BASIC debugger

What do you guys think about a BASIC debugger? This idea came up in a few PMs and I think it's a good one. Basically, you could set breakpoints such as "stop at line 200", or "stop at next PRINT statement". Dumping the contents of all BASIC variables wouldn't be that hard either, but it would very useful to watch.

Is this something that should/could go into an emulator?

A think like this is already existing (Csabo: I've caught you! happy ). It is inside SVS-OS. Basic breakpoints and step-run as I remember.

It really works! You can single step, stop to view variable values, and continue to single step. You can do the same with up to 5 breakpoints.
It prints the current basic line at the bottom of the screen, giving you a single step version of TRON as well.

That's really amazing for a software that has a release date of 1990... Hats off to SVS, the grand master of Plus/4 Utilities.
