Test hardware: Plus/4 PAL, Commodore 1802.
real machine's "colortest_1.prg":
- YAPE (calculated): mediocre, white looks darker, and the gradient is too smooth, whereas in the real machine there's a difference in luma around LUM4;
- YAPE (digitized): very good for lighter greys, a bit worse for darker greys, which appear too smooth in their transition;
- plus4emu (video default): halfaway between YAPE digi and YAPE calc
real machine's "colortest_2.prg":
- YAPE (calculated): quite bad, because YAPE makes it appear extremely smooth;
- YAPE (digitized): good, especially in the midst LUMA greys;
- plus4emu (video default): very bad, especially the "central light column" displayed by the emu. |
