I used to measure different green and luminance values for different machines (I have like 10), I never had the time to figure out the exact reason. It seems there was really a difference between different TED chips as pointed out earlier by not other but Exin himself I guess (at least for the luminance).
And how did you measure? Just because the TED docs have these as luma levels, which are the actual TED pin voltages, while what you're probably measuring on the S-Video output is a not-entirely-linearly transformed luminance signal that went thru some analogue circuitry (this alone could make machine luminances to be different). I used to have a correction for this in Yape, but it turned out to be more confusing than convincing.
