 Re: Murphy's My First Demo

Both demos used the same file (it obviously covers "Living on Video" by Trans-X), composed on C64 in RoMuzak V6.3 editor. I hasn't been able to find the author, 'coz several sid tunes covering that tune existed, but noone matched the file.

Although the file is the same, two different converters had been used.
Metallica uses a frequency converter: briefly, reads the notes of a c64 sid file, transforms'em into TED sound equivalent values, then let the two TED voices play, better if a multiplexer spreads 2 SID channels into one.
My First Demo uses a much "weighty" wave converter, where some little digitized c64-like wavs are used to emulate waveforms too, together with some other data like sustain and release.

In the past, there were several version of both. Some examples follow.
- frq converters: MConv v1.6, TCL Music Converter V2.0+, Delta Player...
- wave converters: Coby Waveconverter Relocator, TLCs Digi V2.0 Converter Relocator V1.0, Steve Player...
You can find several other in the TLC's Music Converters pack he did years ago.
