 trying to find

Hi all

Does anybody know anywhere(apart from ebay)where i can get c16 plus 4 games from?

Especially lookinf for compilations and tom thumb, ghost town, trailblazer and pogo pete(as well as hundreds of others)always same games on ebay.

My wife threw my box of tapes out when we moved(she didnt realise what they were)
Luckily i kept plus 4 safe with other machines.

Thanks in advance for any help.

 Re: trying to find

Games? In North America?

The machine was promoted as a "business" machine, so the games for it are few and far between..... but I do have some if you're interested. I'm in suburban Kansas City.

Is there anything in particular you're looking for?

Promoted as a "business" machine? Ha! I didn't think they promoted it at all in North America!
LOL

Ok... so I saw adds for a month or two but that's it and I never saw the machine in a single store in the US. The C64 and Atari were everywhere though.

 Re: trying to find

The Plus/4 was carried by K-Mart, Sears, and Montgomery Ward; I saw them there myself. Wards even had software on their shelves from day one, whereas Sears had to bring it in through the catalog side.

Honestly, the only place I remember NOT seeing the Plus/4 was at Wal-Mart.

 Re: trying to find

I'm looking for any cartridges and disks I can get my hands on. I have absolutely no software for my Plus/4.

 Re: trying to find

I don't want to sound like a smart arse, but have you considered using an XE1541 cable?? That way you can play anything you download from the net on your Plus/4. If you have a real disk drive, you can even transfer the games to the disks so you don't even need the PC to play them.
I don't have a disk drive, but I managed to get FIRE ANT and G-MAN onto tape simply by loading the .prg files to the plus/4, then typing SAVE. Both games load perfectly well as far as I can see.

 Re: trying to find

Well that's what I thought originally, but Mosh mentioned that he had absolutely no software, so I thought it would be a good way to try out a load of games/utilities.

I know about the XE1541 cable and someday will buy one. I'm just looking for the original disks/cartridges at the moment.

 Re: trying to find

I just checked ebay, there's a whole lot of games that ship to North America. So does this shop: http://www.retro-games.co.uk.

 Re: trying to find

Csabo: it's great that European sellers can ship to North America. The problem is that much of the European software (read C16 games) are PAL only.

Someone buying off of Ebay won't know which games will work on an NTSC machine unless they check a good database (like the one here)... and even then, they're taking someone's word for it.

 Re: trying to find

He didn't indicate in any of his posts that he is looking for NTSC only software. Maybe he's got a PAL machine?

Off topic: Yeah, the database is good, but SO much information is still missing. And so is a nice "advanced search" feature.

Hmm, a second Mosh using this forum.. interesting.

Anyways, Sidius, you have some stuff I'm interested in on your list. Are you still at you at freenet? If you want, email me at mosh(at)people(dot)net(dot)au (I don't use Hotkey any more)

Cheers
