OK, since nobody complained about the comments yet I can admit they are mine. happy
No, I haven't seen a single Plus/4 there, sadly.
I hope you'll do something about it next year. wink

I checked out the photos (and some comments are quite funny, e.g. "Years of playing Tetris and Sokoban" :D ).

Just not a single plus/4 there?

Maybe we can do something about it next year.

So there were quite a few Hungarian sceners at the party, just not Plus/4 guys.
You can find the photos in the aforementioned gallery.

 Re: FOReVER|neXt - 8-bit computer party - 13-15. o3. 2oo9

Are you, by chance, the Škoda fan I met at Arok? happy
Well, what to say about the broken car, maybe "Škoda slov". wink Everyone driving a Czech car with Hungarian license plate around Slovakia is asking for problems. happy But if you brought along some Gipsies and Ukrainians your situation could've been much worse LOL!

It's a pity Hungarian sceners don't often attend Forever. The party is great of course but it could be even better with some Plus/4 and Enterprise (and more C64) prods.

Well, you are right. This kind of friendship and open minded steps over boundaries.
The common hobby makes us one nation happy
Unfortunately we are not fully independent from the climate we are living.

For me it was enough to have once a broken up car...
In fact is is my fav. car, a Škoda happy

 Re: FOReVER|neXt - 8-bit computer party - 13-15. o3. 2oo9

Hmm, interesting.
I didn't imagine the mutual Slovak-Hungarian misunderstanding would prevent anyone to go to a demoparty. And my imagination isn't exactly weak. happy
I'm Czech and I sometimes go to German and Austrian parties and experience no problems there, just like my German Atarian friends pay us a visit from time to time without any problems (AFAIK). I'm not sure if the same can be said about Germans and Poles. (BTW even I give the Polish parties the lowest priority in my schedule hehe.)
I must also say that I don't differentiate between Slovak, Hungarian, Czech, Austrian or any other nationalists and related idiots, I hate them with the same intensity. happy
Excuse me for being so uninformed, I have only been to a few Forevers so far and didn't pay much attention to this kind of matters. I only noticed some Hungarian crew once (including Mr. Lukacs) and the only problem I noticed was that we couldn't speak with some interesting people because they didn't speak English. happy Well, there were also some interesting people from Poland who simply couldn't speak at all at some point of time. happy
FYI: there are also still a few Slovaks who don't like hearing Czech, either. happy I don't care, Forever is the top party on my list and hardly anything can change that.

 Re: FOReVER|neXt - 8-bit computer party - 13-15. o3. 2oo9

There is also an other issue, sorry to mention here. I know this is not that kind of forum, but worth to mention.
It is not about the friendly -and open-minded- folks on the party, but some other guys in Slovakia, dislike the idea to have any Hungarians in Slovakia, on that level that it is better for you if you do not speak any Hungarian word at some places, if you understand what I mean.
As plus/4 section is rather strong here in Hungary, I do not know, if it is a withdrawing force or not for other people, but I dislike to go to any place, where I am not welcomed, and I was really soft on my view. I do not want to list all the countries I already visited (and I can tell you, it was a lot, with really great experiences and good contacts till today), but going through Slovakia to Czech was one of my worst experience, just because of their habit against Hungarians.
(and again I do not speak about the Party organizers, who certainly great guys with wide view on the world. I already see Hungarian visitors on their page, although the short distance and the strong scene in Hungary would clearly suggest stonger presence).

 Re: FOReVER|neXt - 8-bit computer party - 13-15. o3. 2oo9

I bet they will set up another category if there's enough demand. But it's not only about a dedicated competition, is it? I've been to the Arok Party last year, for the first time. And neither I nor my friends (all Atarians) felt bored or deprived of something. Not that we had any products, hehe.

 Re: FOReVER|neXt - 8-bit computer party - 13-15. o3. 2oo9

Well, I just checked their page, and they supports only C64+ VC1541/II hardware under competition.
So it could be an explanation, why no Plus/4 folks are there.

Forever is one of the parties I'm really looking forward to going to every year. The others are Bytefest and... Atariada. :D
So far I haven't met any Plus/4 guys there, I wonder why.
If anyone wonders what Forever looks like here are some photo galleries: http://krupkaj.ic.cz.
