Hope he didn't pay too much...

Would have been interesting if Commie hadn't sold out so quick to Escom so quickly.... They had a lot of prototypes on the boards. Like the 1582 diskdrive prototype that Jack Vander White sent. Was labeled on the motherboard "unit 03 of 06". Used a high/low density format that reminded me of what CMD was selling.

 V364 Revived

Daniel has revived the V364. Turns out the power supply was REALLY weak and only lasted a couple of minutes into the first power-up. The TED chip went with it. Replacing these two parts brought the V364 back to functional condition.

Turns out the keyboard was hand-made by Mitsumi in Japan and the small plastic pieces underneath the keys are starting to deteriorate, so for operational purposes Daniel is using a Plus/4 keyboard with this unit. (The numeric keypad and the function keys are not operational on the 364 keypad anyway.)

The speech ROM (spk3cc4) is identical to the one from Bo Zimmerman's machine already posted on ftp.funet.fi.

The V364 was dead on arrival

The person who outbid me for the V364 last month, Daniel Benson, has reported that it is not working.

He posted pictures of the unit last week on his website: http://www.moduluscorporation.com/cbmpics/v364.htm
