I was slightly wrong about the Plus4 claim: at the time, I remembered seeing pictures from two in a folder that contained temporary copies for transfer then realized that I made more.

I've been making out more C64 game screenshots, and more are on the way, but I admit that, right now, I have only two Plus4 games made out: it's hard to find a Plus4 game that uses its graphics well. When I'm finished, should I upload them?

I also have WinVice x64 color schemes there if anybody's interested. They include Fluorescent and Tropical themes.

Try changing in the link "en." with "www." I wasn't at my computer at the time and had to type from memory.

Actually, the images online were compressed in jpeg format, but the originals are in either .mp or .png format, and, if you want, I can remake them in .png format. BTW, I resized nearly all the pictures using the nearest neighbor filter, so there's little to no blur. They're at https://en.sourceforge.net/projects/cc65extra/files/ and are labelled.

Thank you for your kind offer.
I usually use Lemon64 as most of the games a have a pixel perfect start screen in the proper resolution, and no JPG compression issues visible. Taking these perfect pictures, Plus4Emu's GFX converter can do a great conversion. It is usually not perfect, but rather close. Certainly the dithering need to be switched off, but it can create a bitmap file you can edit further in eg. Multipaint.
The biggest trick here that C64 has 3 free colors in every attribute, while Plus/4 has only 2 free colors and a general second global background color. So the on to one conversion of a C64 multicolor picture is almost impossible, except the original picture's creator was lazy and used very few colors only.
C64 original
Converted without dither: (very close but not perfect):
Worth to mention that the brightness needs some play as the too dark colors generate wrong conversion and the too light (as seen on the picture) too many color modification, need to be corrected manually.
Editing in progress:
You can clearly see the 3 VS 2 colors per attribute problem on the Logos, or the helmet, so they need a redraw or dropping one of the colors to get a readible text (so it will be slightly different from the C64 version). Some of the issues is not possible to solve in this way like the red helmet issue.
Actually Multipain can import .ART C64 files, so if you could provide BMX Simulator's C64 picture in .ART format, I could compare the two conversion's quality.

| Interested in C64 game screenshots?
Hi! Is anybody here interested in some C64 game screenshots as Windows? I also have some from NES, SNES and a few Amiga games. If so, ask, and I will post a link. BTW, I also have some C64 game screenshots as Win98 startup screens and am working on some Plus4 game screenshots.
