All you have to do is WEAR it.

Disguise yourself as the Sheik by WEARing his ROBES.
What precious thing should I give the priest?
Your CANTEEN, filled with water.
I died from hunger! Where can I find something to eat?
In the oasis, there's unlimited COCONUTS on top of the palm trees. In Siwah, you must buy cereal from the farmer.
I died from thirst! Where can I find something to drink?
There's a well in both the oasis and in Siwah.
How do I get past the snake?
The old snake charmer trope; PLAY the FLUTE.
I did what was needed to be done, but the snake still killed me!
Keep playing the flute until the game says the snake actually leaves.
What do I do at the military camp?
Nothing, avoid this place, red herring.
What do I give the boy?
GIVE him the COCONUTS, found on top of the palm trees in the oasis.
How do I get into the temple?
PRAY.
How do I avoid the scorpion?
You can't, you will get stung no matter what.
I died from the scorpion poison!
DRINK the rare TINCTURE that you got in the temple.
How do I get out of the sandstorm?
EXAMINE your COMPASS.

You must wear the coat you find behind the gold mirror.
