The garage KEY is hanging on a HOOK in the hall.
How can I get in the attic?
You will find a LADDER in one of the CUPBOARDS in the garage. If you have that in your inventory, you will be able to go UP.
Where can I find some batteries for the torch?
In the tool BOX, which is in one of the CUPBOARDS in the garage.
I tried LIGHT TORCH, TURN ON TORCH, etc. but I can turn it on!
You can only turn it on with the somewhat oddly phrased "TORCH ON".
I got in the Jeep with my wife, have petrol in the car and I have the keys, but I can't drive away!
When the game says "You aren't ready yet", that means you're still missing an item.
What are all the things I must have with me to be able to drive away?
