So, does the aforementioned SID test look something like this?
It was a follow-up to an article posted to the Hungarian C-64 mailinglist about detection of extra SIDs, and SID types. Dunno why it got cross-posted to this list.
According to the original mail the return value is:
-$00 : OLD
-$FF: no SID found there.
-anything else: NEW.
