So far, my emulator draws every frame. Its okay speed wise... but if I could drop everyother frame.. itd be far nicer... Sound is the problem, since I have to fill the buffer funny...

I use a sample rate of 31200 which is 2 sample tic's per plus/4 scan line. This means its easy to build samples and keep it tied to EXACTLY the right frame rate. On my P200 it runs at exactly plus/4 speed.
The SID emulation is in "C" and available from my homepage BTW...
Do you have a homepage for your emulator?

I can't say much due to non-disclosures agreements... But... It can pump through the polys (Sonic Adventure IS very nice).. and it does have some custom CPU stuff allowing VERY fast 3D code. All in all, its a fast PC really...

Yeah... I think it may... but to be honest Im not really THAT bothered about making things work blistering on slow machines... Im more interested in getting it correct for future machines.. But I allow stuff to be turned off for slow machines, which helps...
a P133 won't be able to run full SID and mode-x emulation... but it should be okay with no sound and in 320x200.. And if I add frame skip,
it should be great!

To be honest, my problem has never been CPU stuff, but screen processing.. running another CPU wouldn't slow it down THAT much..

I miss the Amiga... great machine... I still have it (a poor wee A1200).. but Its just unused...

I did a cool SNES assember on it... beat a PC at compile times! :-)
