Subject: tape stuff...
Howdy fellas,
I agree on the fact, that there aren't more than 20 different Turbo Loaders. NOVA LOAD was the most commonly used one, though, there are some different versions. I transfered (I wouldn't call it CRACKIN') all my tapes (more than 60) to disk. Some (like EXPLODING FIST) were a bit challenging, still, not that hard to do. Usually, TURBO LOADER GAMES are done like this...
The first part contains only 2 bytes (a vector for auto start). The TURBO LOAD routine itself is not SAVEd as a program but it's IN the FILENAME.
However, the ROM only displays the first 16 characters. The second part has to be loaded with the TURBO LOAD routine. I guess, 80 percent of all games can be cracked like this. Just skip to TEDMON when the FOUND...
Message appears. Search for the JMP $START in the FILENAME memory (Not the DOS FILENAME but where the TAPE HEADER is stored, $03... whatever), change it to JMP $f445 (Or a save routy, if the program uses VIDEO RAM etc. In that case, it's also a good idea to switch off the I/O messages like SAVING... etc) and start the LOADER. Well, this wouldn't work for the ANIROG loader... Though, I do have a copy of that game. somewhere. Anyway,
I packed all my "real" 49 blocks Games with the same cruncher. So, my collection includes only "clean" versions! (I hate buggy cracks or deleted original texts...) I also created a list containing the programmer, year published, software house, etc. Unfortunately, I can neither down- nor upload right now. Still, there's no need to do this rather boring job again... Rather focus on the niffty ones, like MOON BUGGY :)

About the buggy depack routy... You probably used some ZEROPAGE addresses which you shouldn't use. (Or re-init them before starting the prog!)
Anyway, $d0 and so on can be used savely!

That's it...
