Subject: ESC idea+colors
Hi everybody,
I've been checking the ROM lately and had some ideas... If this is already used in other OSs like OS96 (which I don't have) just forget it.

There's a table for ESC key functions at $de1a

$d1ea lo hi ESC A start of ESC functions in alph. order
.
.
.
$de22 lo hi ESC E not used (point to an RTS)
F
G
H

$de3e lo hi ESC S

$de42 lo hi ESC U

These six keys are not used... What about including something like "ESC+F"
for FREEZE... "ESC+S" for SAVE GRAPHIC and "ESC+G" for GET GRAPHIC?

Btw, I finally got a new CD-ROM which works fine... It's a Pioneer and accepts even very scratched -RUN DMC ;)- Audio CDs.

About colors...
Anyone out there who has digitized the plus/4 colors (RGB values) and not just guessed'em? I wonder if there are different values in this case:

On my 1802 monitor (before it died...) you couldn't read/see a text in color $01 on a $00 background when the border color was $71 (just an example). Setting the border color to $00 would solve the problem. Is this just a problem caused by "bad" monitors, or something else?

Generally, colors seemed to be brighter when using a dark border color.
That's not caused by the "natural" contrast cause this was even the case if I "blew up" the screen and no border area was visible.

So long,
Chicken/B³
