Don,
have you tried to swap to a cartridge software
(as f.e. ScriptPlus by press F2)?
This because it may be a bank switching problem.
If you have a non-autostart cartridge try to use it.
If all goes well, and if you own one, use ScriptPlus cartridge writing some text, then use ESC-J to swap to the 2nd bank.
