This will be most interesting to compare with the C64 Magic Voice ROM,
which is also on Funet.

Is it definitely that slot in the original V364? From my experiments with the 3 plus 1 ROMs, there seems to be some kind of slot-independant code in the OS which recognises auto-starting ROMs and executes their code regardless of which slot they're in.

Slot Low bank ($8000 - $BFFF) High bank ($C000 - $FFFF)

0 BASIC KERNAL
1 3 plus 1 LO 3 plus 1 HI
2 (game - eg. Jack Attack) (game? Any 32K games?)
3 Speech ROM blank

On all machines, slots 2 and 3 chip selects (both low and high) are available on the edge connector. Slot 1 is not there, so the best way to add 3 plus 1 (if for some reason you'd ever want to) to a C16 is to do an internal mod. However, it runs fine from Slot 2 in a game cartridge. The SYS address on the F-key is slightly different. You can even plug such a cartridge into a plus/4 and have two copies of 3 plus 1 on F1 and F2 with different run addresses.

All of this means a V364-compatible speech cartridge for other 264 series machines might just be possible.
