It's not really worth it to detail this, but...
I think your attitude is fine, especially if it works for you. It worked for me before, but not at present.
Since there *is* lynx for the Spriteless Wonder, there's no problem with .lnx files. Starlynx does a nice job of putting lnx files into .d64 images for emulators. If you have a cable and somewhere to use it SC's a nice transfer system.
My PC and Plus/4 are in the same building but different locations. I have to go outside and then back in to get to the Plus/4. There's enough room to set up the Plus/4 or almost enough for the C128, so it's one or the other and store the other. I can't go in and out of the room with the pc at night, I disturb, dogs,
my daughter, then my wife with these maneuvers. Nighttime is when I have the chance to transfer files. But thanks to getting my spiffy AMD-k6 (in part so I could run Plus/4 emulators) all my old telecommunications transfer programs have become Software That Used To Work Well. My Bulletin board software has become that stuff I never use.
I seem to be stuck using Hyperterm. It sucks. Batch dl/ul capabilities don't seem to be there. I can't change directories from the remote computer. Term-80
has been rendered almost useless at present.
So...
I have one directory on the pc available to download from and don't seem to have batch UL/DL at present. Should I export the files in a .d64 image to native format and download one at a time? Not really a good option. However, an archiving format that works on the Plus/4 would be just the thing. And now you know why .lnx is not a problem but a solution for someone.
If I have a problem like having a .d64 image I want something from, I export with viewd64.exe or use starlynx to take it to lnx format. If I have a .d64.gz files I want something from, I unzip and then export to lnx format on the pc so I can unlink on the Plus/4.
And since I'm going through lots of disk images and programs looking for games and stuff that run on NTSC, .d64 images begin to look ugly after awhile.

And finally, Ray Allen asked someone for an archiving format to use before he uploaded. I guess only one person responded. :)
And I can tell by replies here how many guys opened and tried to run it.
Only one.

Still Old and Stubborn,
dj
