I have cange in Starcommander the rigt Drive in C then the left Drive in 8 (thats the 1541 floppy) and then the right in A (i have at first copy a .prg on 3.5 HD Disk) when you have a emty 5 1/4 disk in 1541 and the .prg 3.5 disk in A you can copy the .prg on the emty disk and its run on Commodore Computer

In other words, you need Star Commander and an X-1541 series cable. See sta.c64.org for more details.

Or, one might be able to use 64hdd for a similar purpose, even though that's not its' intent. See www.64hdd.com.

The easiest way to transfer prg/d64 files from pc to 1541 is to use a XM1541 cable (As this is most compatable with modern GUI operating systems including Linux,XP,2000). Also use CBM4WIN and not Starcommander as there is a Gui for this which makes it so easy. Just click a few buttons and your away, rather than typing commands in a dos.

I loved Starcommander, but when I was turned to CBM4WIN, I never looked back. You just have to remember to download the GUI as its a seperate file.

If you have any problems setting it up, I will try and help you out happy

I use Star Commander because it works under Windows pre-XP just fine.

And, if you use load a mouse driver in your config.sys, you can use the mouse in SC while in DOS. That's what we did years and years ago (pre-Windows). happy

I agree, if the user is running an XP environment, CBM4WIN is the way to go, as SC has trouble with XP not letting SC control the printer port.
