I've managed to get the golden egg in the first part of the game, but what happens next? There is no obvious place to go, I don't have a clue what to do from that point onwards to get to the next section.

Once you have the egg you have to make your way back down to the staircase (screen 4) and walk under the stairs to exit. 
After that I can help much other than Csabo's map as I never made it past level 2.

Also be sure you are using the TAP file, that's the original version. As far as I know, NONE of the other cracks can load the next part properly.
