Well done (both games!), you can tell that great care has been taken to ensure everything is nice and smooth.
Although this is not a rule written in stone, but this is why we say "ported" and not "converted". Ported means something like "created a version of another game (sometimes by using resources)". Converted would be more like "adjusted an original game just enough to make it run". There's a lot in between though; one could say that all my logic games (1010!, 2048, Candy Dots, Digits, Stack 123, etc.) are "ports" since the core game idea is borrowed (even though those are all written from scratch). My adventure conversions (Temple of Terror) usually have massive code optimizations and bugfixes, not to mention added docs and other extras... Are those "simple conversions"? And then there's stuff like Stop The Express... But I digress.
On another (off-topic) note, does anyone remember "AlphaMan" (no space in the name)? It's another DOS game from 1995, a roguelike. I remember playing it, super fun.
Congrats again to both of you guys for shipping completed games We're all happy to see them! |
