Welcome to the world of adventure. They might be old, they might be forgotten but there wasn't many games back in these days that could capture your attention and imagination like a text adventure could. I hope you find some fun with them, they helped me remember why I like text adventures so much.

I've been getting back into these simple adventures recently. The Brian Howarth ones being an exception as they're too bloody obscure. The Mountain Valley Adventure series are probably my favourite. I ported Escape From Raka-Tua +4 from the C64 version.
My favourite overall was Williamsburg (Adventure 3) for its sheer lunacy, and one I could actually beat back in the day. Took about a year but the satisfaction was great. I eventually ported it over to the C64 which you can find on my profile.
Anyway, thanks for these. I'm going to download them onto my steamdeck, as that's what I've been using lately through emulation rather than my C16. I'm able to play them and save game progress with my mini bluetooth keyboard.

The Steam deck is awesome and is amazingly good as an emulation device. Thanks for the nice comments about text adventures. Some say they are dead, who said that nonsense . My wife had never played a text adventure until last year, I got her to play Pirate Adventure on rainy afternoon and she loved it to bits.
I will be sure to check out your text adventures, thanks for pointing me at them.
