The April 15-16 Commodore Los Angeles Super Show 2023 is moving forward! Deposits have been sent to the venue! Exhibits and presentations are being finalized; see

https://www.portcommodore.com/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=class:exhibits

https://www.portcommodore.com/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=class:presentations_guests

For the first time, CLASS will have a class! CBM veteran Marc Rifkin will teach a class on BASIC 7.0/7.8 programming on the Commodore 128, the programming goal to build a game (possibly a Breakout clone). For the first time, we will have an exhibit on MorphOS, the alternative to AmigaOS; Dan Lee will bring a Mac Mini G3 with MorphOS running on it. For the first time (and if all goes well), we will have a Mega65 computer on display, the Mega65 being the modern replica of the Commodore 65 which was never released to the public.

Sincerely,
Robert Bernardo

 Re: Commodore Los Angeles Super Show 2022 - April 15-16

Dear Robert,
What a great collection of computers! Especially the A500 with Vampire board is something most ppl can just dream, so rare and so powerful! The other computers are also great to read about, including our humble 264 "precious"...

partially off:
Retro Printer module is great! In the past I owned a MPOS-801, but later a huge A3 STAR beast LC24-200, but sold it due to it's huge weight (probably cost a lot now...)
While C64 and GEOS had working Centronics interface and driver (GeoCable), we were not so lucky. (nor even RS232 printers were an option, not to mention the semiprofessional IEEE-488 printers, we have no such interface).
Though this one may work with Plus/4, then connect the Retro-Printer module happy

@MMS
What's the problem about Centronics? Just connect your printer to the user port!
Epson Driver - I soldered a cable myself and was successfully using it.

@Litwr
thanks, this small interface does not exist even on Zimmers. So then why the GeoCable was so expensive back in the 80s? headscratch

@Litwr it earned a 10/10 score :-)

The code and idea were just borrowed from Alles Uber den PLUS 4. But some people always prefer to spend their cash instead of book reading. wink
